We checked into the Motel 6 in St Joseph Missouri on August 18th. We were given a key to our room. Upon entering the room, the smell was disgusting, the beds looked already slept in and dirty! We immediately went back to the front desk and requested a refund. We were told we couldn’t get a refund, but a different room, we asked if it would be better and was told he didn’t know. We went to the room, and it was not better. At this point, we went to get a bit to eat. Then we decided we would forfeit the money and leave instead of staying at this disgusting motel. We went back and told the nice young man at the desk that we just couldn’t stay, and it had nothing to do with him. He did what he was told to do. He understood and refunded our deposit. We have stayed at Motel 6 before and we were satisfied. This property needs to be investigated. We will never stay at one again!
