I arrived at Dollar General at 8:42 pm and the location does not close until 9 pm. This particular location is located at 3903 S Anthony Blvd in Fort Wayne Indiana. I approached the door and it was locked. The automatic door would not open. I then called the store. I received a busy signal on the first call. I called again and the phone began to ring but the manager came to the door and immediately began yelling at me stating, “I worked 14 hours today and we are closed.” I stated to her that the sign says you don’t close until 9 pm. She repeatedly told me that the store is closed. There were two other employees there with her and they were laughing during this exchange. She continued to yell at me and said that she didn’t care and she was not opening the door. Another customer approached the door during this time and informed me that this type of thing happens all the time and that she always closes the store early. I asked for the manager and she told me she was the manager and then I asked for her name. She told me to look it up. She revised to tell me her name because I asked repeatedly. The other customer who was waiting outside with me told me her name was Liz and that he was doing a complaint with corporate. This is absolutely unacceptable and extremely rude to treat customers this way. I had to drive an extra mile and a half in the opposite direction of my home to go to CVS to get the one item that I needed. This type of treatment of customers needs to be immediately stopped and disciplinary action needs to be taken swiftly.
