Recently my granddaughter placed, an online order of dorm supplies to be delivered to her college on Tuesday, August. Her bank approved the payment but Walmart thought it was fraud and canceled the order. No call or email to verify that she placed the order. Walmart simply canceled and sent her an email to expect a refund in ten days. No money and no dorm supplies. Move in date is Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She talked to customer service who said they would get billing to expedite the same day. This never occurred. She called and asked to speak to a manager of customer service, but she was told they were all in a meeting and someone would call her back. She is still waiting. Ten days is an unreasonable amount of time to hold someone’s money. Banks don’t hold money that long. This young woman is devastated. If you cancel someone’s order within mins of it being placed, the money should be returned and or the hold released immediately. You do not know that person’s financial circumstances.
